- I take full responsibility for getting into a film only on the basis of trust. But after dubbing for my character in the film, as I had professionally committed to do so I'm extremely disturbed by the end result of the same. In these circumstances I didn't know how to promote a film with all honesty and that's why I thought it was better to stay away.

- Bipasha - whose co-stars in the film include Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor and Tamannaah Bhatia apart from Esha - seemed to have fallen out with Humshakals director Sajid Khan in particular, since she wished the rest of the team success and not Sajid.
- She tweeted: I am confident that the film will be true to its genre and will be a full entertainer because of the people involved. I wish Fox Star studios, with whom I have had my biggest hit with Raaz 3, and Vashu ji - who is a fantastic producer - all the best. Wish all my co-stars Saif, Riteish, Tamannah, Esha and the technicians best of luck. Sometimes, certain journeys cannot be completed and this is one of them - no one to be blamed, combination of things that made me disrupt my journey.
- It seems the animosity is mutual. At a recent promotional event, Sajid Khan first dodged the question of Bipasha's absence, then he waxed eloquent about his two other leading ladies, and finally ascribed the Bipasha-shaped gap to: "Reasons of absence are known to her."
- The reported rivalry Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu is believed to date to 2012 movie Raaz 3. The grapevine also suggests that Bipasha objected to being cast opposite Riteish in Humshakals, whilst her Race 2 co-star Saif had Esha and Tamannaah to romance. A third rumour goes as far to say that Bipasha felt Esha looked far better than her in the film and was getting a better deal, with Tamannaah, because of their closeness to Sajid.
- Humshakals releases this Friday, which is when reviews and box office collections may prove if Bipasha's grouse with her role in the film is valid.
