Athiya Shetty Posts Pic With Late Grandfather, Writes 'Will Miss You'

New Delhi: Actress Athiya Shetty, daughter of veteran actor Suniel Shetty, wrote an emotional note for her late grandfather on Instagram on Thursday, two days after he died. Suniel Shetty's father Virappa Shetty died at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on February 28. Athiya Shetty shared an old photograph of herself as a young girl and her grandfather and wrote: "And sometimes even a lifetime isn't enough." Athiya, who is one of Virappa Shetty's grandchildren, also added in her post: "Thank you for being my grandfather. Hope you're happy and at peace wherever you are. Love you Ajja, will miss you forever." Virappa Reddy's 24-year-old granddaughter is only one-film-old in Bollywood.

The actress' grandfather suffered a stroke in 2013 and was under constant medical surveillance at Suniel Shetty's residence in Mumbai. Mr Shetty's failing health is reportedly why the Hera Pheri actor has featured in only a few films lately. Mr Shetty's cremation took place on Thursday and his funeral was attended by Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, Jackie Shroff and director Rohit Shetty. Actor Sooraj Pancholi, Athiya's co-star of Hero, was also there.

Athiya made her Bollywood debut when Salman Khan launched her in the 2015 film Hero, co-starring Sooraj, also a newcomer. Athiya will next be seen with Arjun Kapoor in Mubarakan. Directed by Anees Bazmee, Mubarakan also stars Anil Kapoor and Ilena D'Cruz and releases on July 28.
