ICAR CAZRI Observes 59th Foundation Day
Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has observed its 59th foundation day on 1 October. The event began with the foundation day lecture which was followed by the welcome speech by the Director, Dr OP Yadav. Dr Yadav appreciated achievements the institute has achieved in the last one year. He also emphasized on the establishment of Agri Voltaic system.
Dr. R.K. Kaul was given a very special Appreciation for his outstanding work in PME cell of the institute; nine other employees were also appreciated for their work: Mr Surjeet Singh, STO; Mr P.K. Tomar, STA; Mr D.M. Sancheti, AAO; Mr Mool Das, SSS; Mr Ladu Singh, SSS; Mr Anda Ram, SSS; Mr Jai Roop Ram, STA; Mr S.P. Arora, Sr. Clerk; and Dr. T.R. Choudhary, Sr. Clerk.
Foundation day lecture was given by Dr AK Singh, Vice Chancellor, Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Gwalior on 'Is Agricultural Water Crisis Solvable.' Dr Singh highlighted the efforts of the institute and appreciated the experiments undertaken by CAZRI in addressing the issues of the arid zone which has subsequently doubled the income of farmers.
The event was also graced by CAZRI alumni Dr. S.P. Kimothi, ADG (Coordination) and Dr. P.C. Sharma, Director, CSSRI, Karnal.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Praveen Kumar.
CAZRI Jodhpur will be organizing model training course on Waste Management for Sustainable Agriculture in Low Rainfall Areas from 28 November till 5 December. The course is sponsored by Directorate of Extension Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
