Candidates who registered for the CTET 2026 September session exam will be eligible to download the CTET 2026 admit card. The CBSE will release the admit card in online mode on its official website, ctet.nic.in. The admit card is an important document that the applicants need to carry with them on the day of the examination. 

As per official information, a total of 21 editions of the CTET exam have been conducted so far. The result of the 21st edition was declared on March 30, 2026.

The central government has constituted a High-Powered Task Force (HPTF) with Nandan Nilekani as chairman, to examine and recommend comprehensive reforms relating to the conduct, security, design, and governance of public examinations. Interested people must submit their suggestions by September 13, 2026. Submissions may be made in English, Hindi, and regional languages, as per the official guidelines.

The CBSE noted that all rough work must be done on the space provided in the test booklet. Candidates must not do any rough work on the OMR sheet, the exam body stated.

 The CTET 2026 city slip will be released on the official website: ctet.nic.in. 

The CTET exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. While Paper 1 is for candidates seeking to become teachers for Classes 1 to 5, Paper 2 is for those candidates who wish to become teachers for classes 6 to 8.  

The CBSE noted that the Supreme Court has "emphasised the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification." 

The board stated: "In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window by opening the online application portal."

The first side of the CTET OMR sheet contains the following columns which are to be filled in accurately by the candidates using a ball point pen (black/blue):

• Roll Number
• Name of the candidate
• Father’s Name
• Centre Number
• Name of the Examination Centre
• Subject offered for Paper 2 (Only in case of Paper 2)

Candidates must note that the use of pencil is strictly prohibited.

Earlier, the CTET registration portal was active from May 11 to June 10, 2026, and the exam was scheduled for September 6, 2026. 

However, the CBSE reopened the 22nd CTET application window on August 25, giving candidates another opportunity to apply. The registration window closed on September 1, as per the revised schedule. 

According to the prescribed test structure by the CBSE, all questions in the CTET exam will be multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.

The CBSE is yet to release the revised exam date notice on its official exam portal.

The exam body has advised candidates to use blue or black ball point pen to darken the circles. Pens with any other colors are prohibited, the CBSE noted. Do not use pencil or ink gel pen, it added.
 

The Central Board of Secondary Education will announce the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 revised examination dates soon on its official portal, ctet.nic.in.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday announced that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will now be held in offline mode in addition to online mode, a move aimed at providing relief to teachers. Yadav made the announcement while addressing the state-level Teacher Honour Ceremony organised at the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management in Bhopal on the occasion of Teachers' Day.

Applicants must note that the OMR answer sheet will be machine graded and will be processed by electronic means, that is, computers and scanners. Invalidation of OMR answer sheet due to incomplete or incorrect filling will be the sole responsibility of the candidate, the exam body stated. 

The CBSE noted that the Supreme Court has "emphasised the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification." 

According to the official marking scheme and test structure, each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking.
