'Police tarnished our daughter's image'

'Police tarnished our daughter's image'
New Delhi: In a mail sent to Delhi's top cop BK Gupta, family members of Radhika Tanwar have allegedly accused the police of tarnishing the image of the family. A student of Ram Lal Anand College in Dhaula Kuan, Radhika, was shot dead on Tuesday on a foot over-bridge when she was going to college.

Radhika's uncle Pramod Tanwar rubbished the claims of south Delhi police that the killing was the handiwork of a jilted lover. The family members had earlier denied any knowledge about the stalker but cops had said the deceased had told her family and friends that someone was following her for the past few days.

"We have not beaten up anybody for stalking Radhika. We have never given any such statement to the police and are hurt to know that such comments are being propagated by the media. Police is giving its own version to the media and we have complained against this to the police commissioner," said Pramod.

DCP (south) HGS Dhaliwal had said on Tuesday: "We have got information about a stalker and the victim's relatives have confirmed that Radhika had indeed told them about this. We are investigating the case from every angle."
