Delhi man kills sister, her husband over property

New Delhi: A property dispute led a man to allegedly hatch a conspiracy to kill his sister and her husband in the capital city, Delhi Police said on Wednesday.

Police said, 16 years ago Pawan Jindal started a property dealing business from a plot of land that belonged to Satpal Garg.

Garg was married to Jindal's sister Ramkali. In July, Garg asked Jindal to vacate the land. This enraged Jindal, who hired three men to kill Garg and Ramkali.

Police said Jindal hired contract killer Sandeep Kumar and his two associates, Vikram and Chandveer, for Rs 1 lakh for killing the couple.

On October 30, Garg and his wife were reportedly robbed before being killed in their house in Sri Nagar in north Delhi, Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Karunkaran said.

To make the murders look like a robbery, the attackers decamped with Rs 2.5 lakh cash and jewellery, police said.

"Pawan Jindal and Sandeep Kumar were arrested for killing Satpal Garg and Ramkali," Karunkaran said.
