Case against IFS officer for alleged sexual assault

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday night registered a case against an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer after his domestic help claimed that he sexually assaulted her in Kenya where he was working at the Indian mission as its Deputy High Commissioner.

A senior police official said a case under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against Ketan Shukla, a 1986-batch IFS officer, who is presently posted in Ahmedabad.

The 22-year-old woman hailing from Jharkhand has claimed that Shukla had sexually assaulted her during their stay in Kenya between 2007 and 2010. Shukla has denied the allegations.
