In a serious security lapse, the pistol of a senior police officer guarding the Punjab Chief Minister has been stolen, police said on Friday.
DSP Ram Parkash lodged a complaint on Friday that his 9 mm pistol, kept in a bag with 30 cartridges, was lying in his official vehicle when it was stolen yesterday while he was on duty.
After the case was registered, the matter was brought to the notice of DIG Security (Chief Minister), they said.
