A new Mosquito repellant, manufactured as per DRDO's formulation for the Indian defence forces, would be commercially launched by the Jyothi Laboratories in February next, a top company officials said on Monday.
The new product would be launched under the 'Maxo brand', company's Chairman and Managing Director, M P Ramachandran told reporters here.
The new repellant would be effective for at least eight hours, he said.
Jyothi labs had bagged the contract after stiff competition, he said adding the repellant would not have any side effects.
Depending on the success of the repellant, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) would come forward to manufacture some more products out of their research findings, he added.
Ramachandran said about ten tons of raw materials had been purchased for manufacturing the repellant in the first phase.
