Denied Rs 2,000 to buy liquor, Pune man allegedly kills mother

Pune: An 18-year-old man has been arrested for murdering his mother because she refused to give him Rs 2,000 to have liquor.

The deceased was identified as Indu Sitaram Vichare (45), a resident of Belhe in Junnar taluka. The Pune Rural police arrested her son Kishore Sitaram Vichare after a first information report was filed at the Narayangaon police station on Sunday.

Kishore was caught in Ahmednagar by a police team of Assistant Police Inspector Shashikant Chavan, Police Sub-Inspector Asifraja Shaikh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nandu Pawar and Police Constable Datta Hole from Narayangaon.

Kishore denied the murder charge, and the police now believe that his father may also be involved in the crime.

"Kishore has been denying his involvement in the murder and has also stated that his father had fights with his mother everyday," said Chavan. "We are investigating the case."

The murder complaint that was filed stated: "Indu had refused to give Kishore Rs 2,000, which he had demanded for having liquor on Saturday night. Kishore was angry with his mother and around 10.30 pm, in a fit of rage, he started brutally beating up Indu outside their residence in Belhe. Kishore also struck a hard object on her head, because of which Indu was seriously injured. She was lying in that condition on the road and was later taken to her house by some villagers. She died on Sunday morning."

API Chavan said Kishore was traced to Ahmednagar after several phone calls were made to him.

"Kishore fled the village after the incident. He was later traced to Ahmednagar after some of his friends made several calls to him," said Chavan. "He was nabbed on Monday."
