Ghaziabad:
In a major development in the Ghaziabad engineering student's death case, police have slapped murder and ragging charges against six people including a second year student and the hostel dean. The case has been lodged in Ghaziabad police station.
Abhishek Sahai, a 19-year-old first year student of an engineering college near Ghaziabad allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the roof of his hostel building on Sunday night. His family suspects it was a fallout of ragging.
"A friend of his had gone to meet him and he sent him a text message saying, 'I can't come, I'm being ragged.' The message is still there on the cell phone and there's a message on Facebook too," said Abhishek's brother Shrivanshu.
The college, however, denies that ragging was the reason behind the death.
