Chennai: A trip by school students to a theme park at nearby Sripermubudur ended on a tragic note after a 11-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool there, police said today.
The trip had been organised by by his school from Tiruvallur.
Police said the incident occurred when the boy lost consciousness in the deep end of the pool while playing with his classmates.
He was immediately taken by his teacher and theme park officials to a hospital, but he was declared brought dead on arrival, they said.
