Chandigarh:
A 75-year-old woman was found dead at her residence in the posh Sector 21 locality of Chandigarh.
She lived alone and prima facie seems to have been strangled to death sometime last week. Police suspect she was raped before being murdered.
Naunihal Singh, Special Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh said, "We have found a body of an elderly woman. The body is in a decomposed state. It is 4-5 days old. There is a possibility of rape. Only after the medical examination can we reveal more details."
The incident comes after the police found the body of a five-year-old boy on Wednesday evening. The boy was kidnapped last week.
It led to a huge outrage in the area about the failure of the police to crack the case.
