Stunt man on fire jumping out of skyscraper

New Delhi: This is the Catch of the Day because - well, thank god, that safety cushion caught him. :-).

Seriously though, first the warning. Do not try this for any reason at all. The person doing the stunt is clearly a trained professional performing an act and one can think of absolutely no other reason why this kind of thing would be attempted.

It has been posted on YouTube as the Feuer Basejump - feuer is German for fire.
A base jump, for the uninitiated like yours truly, is a jump from fixed objects. Base is an acronym for Buildings, Antennae, Spans (bridges) and Earth (cliffs). It has been described as a "highly  dangerous sport that can easily injure and kill participants." Dedicated websites such as http://www.basejumper.com/ start with the warning: "Think long and hard before making a BASE jump. We do not recommend BASE jumping to anybody."

This one is a fiery jump from high up in a building - a man sets himself on fire before crashing through a window and jumping down to a safety cushion. In slow motion and set to some great music. A base jump is performed with a packed parachute, but did not spot one here, and some users have commented on the word base jump not being strictly appropriate.

Watch how the man tumbles alit, surrounded by falling glass pieces. Also spot the human mask he wore after it has fallen off.

The video has users debating fiercely on whether this is an act of pure adrenaline-pumping dare-devilry or one of extreme foolishness. But watching it they are.

If you spot some that make you stop and stare, send them in here. We'll be happy to credit it to your spidery efforts on the WWW.
