Triumph is going to expand the range of its entry-level offerings in the Indian market with the launch of a new premium single-cylinder motorcycle. The two-wheeler manufacturer is all set to launch the Thruxton 400 in the country on 6 August 2025. Once launched, the cafe racer will be the fourth motorcycle based on the 400 cc platform, joining models like Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, and the Speed T4.

While the brand is preparing to officially take the covers off the machine, unofficially, the bike has been completely revealed thanks to the units arriving at the dealerships. Based on the pictures, the new bike shares loads of similarities with the Speed 400. However, it still maintains its unique persona with revisions in design aimed at making it worthy of the Thruxton name, while there are other minor changes as well.

To begin with, the Triumph Thruxton 400 gets a semi-fairing which extends from the bottom of the fuel tank to the headlight. It gives a rather muscular look to the bike, even with a relatively slim fuel tank. Meanwhile, carrying the neo-retro appeal is the circular headlamp with integrated LED DRLs. Additionally, the design of the tail lamp is new. The brand also seems to be offering the option of a cowl instead of a pillion seat.

Making it a committed cafe racer is the clip-on handlebar, while the brand is also offering a windscreen to complement the aesthetics. The handlebars also provide space for the bar-end mirrors. The rest of the components seem to be very similar to the ones used on the Speed 400.

Looking at the cycle parts, the bike gets USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, front and rear disc brake setup with dual channel ABS, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The wheels are wrapped in tires that appear to be similar in size to the ones offered on the Speed 400. Additionally, the semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer offered on the Speed 400 is also present on the Thruxton 400.

The powertrain will likely be carried over from the Speed 400 to the Thruxton 400 without any changes. This means it will have a 398 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 39 bhp of power and 37 Nm of peak torque. The power will be routed to the wheels via a six-speed gearbox.
