Tesla began its operations in India with the launch of the Model Y in July 2025. At the time, the brand had launched two variations of the car with different battery pack options. The bigger one, called the Long Range version, offered a range of 622 km on a WLTP cycle. However, the American manufacturer has updated this iteration to offer an increased range of 661 km on a single charge.
Tesla has recently upgraded the fully loaded Long Range RWD variant, which features a 78.1 kWh battery pack and was previously rated with a WLTP-certified range of 621 km. The company has now updated this variant to offer an improved range of 661 km, an increase of 39 km compared to before. According to reports, this enhancement is due to a larger 84.2 kWh battery pack.

However, the electric motor located on the rear axle remains the same, allowing this variant to still accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds. The Standard RWD trim continues to feature the 64 kWh battery pack with a WLTP-rated range of 500 km. The 299 hp rear-axle-mounted electric motor has also not changed.
The rest of the specifications remain unchanged, with the Tesla Model Y still offering 7 exterior color options and 2 interior trims. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a 15.4-inch infotainment display in the front, an 8-inch screen in the rear, power-adjustable front seats and steering column, dual-zone automatic climate control, 19-inch crossflow wheels, a fixed glass roof, and a power rear liftgate.
Despite the battery pack upgrade, Tesla has kept the prices for the Model Y the same. The Standard variant continues to be priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the Long Range variant is available for Rs 67.89 lakh.
