The Tata Sierra has achieved a full 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP crash test programme, underlining its strong focus on occupant protection. In the adult occupant protection category, the Tata Sierra delivered a near-perfect score. During the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the SUV secured 15.14 out of 16 points. Protection levels for the driver were rated 'good' across key body areas including the head, neck, pelvis, thighs, and feet, while the chest and tibia regions were marked as 'adequate'.

For the co-driver, protection remained largely 'good' for all critical regions, except for the right tibia, which received an 'adequate' rating. In side impact scenarios, including both the movable deformable barrier test and the more severe side pole impact test, the Sierra performed strongly. Protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis of occupants was consistently rated 'good', although the SUV received an 'OK' rating in the side pole impact test overall.

Tata Sierra: Child Occupant Protection

The Sierra also performed commendably in child safety tests, achieving 44.73 out of 49 points. The evaluation included dynamic crash performance, child restraint system (CRS) installation, and overall vehicle assessment.

Both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies were placed in rearward-facing child seats. In frontal crash conditions, the 18-month-old dummy scored 7.73 out of 8 points, while the 3-year-old dummy achieved a full 8 out of 8. In side impact tests, both dummies secured full marks of 4 out of 4.

The SUV earned 23.73 out of 24 points in the dynamic assessment and a perfect 12 out of 12 for CRS installation, indicating excellent compatibility with child seats. However, a slight deduction in the vehicle assessment category resulted in the final score.

Tata Sierra: Safety Features

The Tata Sierra comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package as standard, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, rear parking sensors, and all-wheel disc brakes. It also gets an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Higher variants enhance safety further with features such as a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, blind spot monitoring, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
