Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd has achieved a significant milestone by producing 50,000 units of the Skoda Kylaq in just over a year since its launch in December 2024. The Kylaq is manufactured at the Group's Chakan facility near Pune and has become a key product in driving sales for the brand, contributing to a 36 percent year-on-year growth for the Group in 2025.
The Kylaq is Skoda's first sub-4-metre SUV and has played a crucial role in enhancing the group's performance in India. As stated by the company, this model has been instrumental in increasing production volumes as the Group aims to scale its operations and improve cost competitiveness in the Indian market.

To support Kylaq production, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has increased capacity at the Chakan facility by 30 percent. The company has also expanded its collaboration with local suppliers to enhance localization levels.

The Kylaq is built on the MQB-AO-IN platform, which serves as the foundation for various India-specific models from the Volkswagen Group. Designed in line with Skoda's Modern Solid design philosophy, the SUV features a signature glossy black front grille, elegant LED lights, and a strong road presence. It offers a ground clearance of 189 mm and comes with options for 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the vehicle boasts a practical cabin design that includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital cockpit, along with amenities such as 6-way electric adjustable front seats with ventilation, an electric sunroof, and a wireless phone charger.
Under the hood, the Kylaq is equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that delivers 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. Customers have the option of choosing between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter.
The SUV has received a 5-star rating from BNCAP for safety, featuring standard safety equipment that includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and more.
