Renault India has announced the launch of seven new products in the Indian market. The new products from the house of the French automaker will be based on the new Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP) and Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP). The RGEP will be used to develop products which will improve the automaker's presence in the sub Rs 10 lakh segment of the Indian market. It is to be noted that the segment is currently dominated by manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.
New Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP)
Presently, the brand has the Renault Kwid in the segment alongside the Triber MPV and Kiger SUV. Using the new platform, the brand will renew its presence in the category by improving the capabilities of the aforementioned models using the new RGEP platform, excluding Kwid. It will support multiple body types, bringing updates to different segments.

The current versions of the cars are based on a CMF-A platform. The transition to the RGEP platform for these models will begin to roll out over the coming months. It is a part of the brand's "FutuREeady India" roadmap, which aims to scale up the manufacturer's presence. The French automaker also aims to gain a position in one of the most competitive segments of the market.

Renault Triber With Underbody CNG
A major update to the range will come for the Triber, which will be introduced with an underbody CNG in the future, supported by the RGEP platform. It will optimise the use of boot space by freeing the space from CNG cylinders. Similar updates can be expected in future products of the brand in the under Rs 10 lakh segment.

Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP)
The automaker also plans to expand its presence in other segments using the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP). This is the same platform that underpins the Duster SUV and can support six powertrain options. The options include CNG, flex-fuel cars, strong hybrid, and battery electric vehicles. It will also provide 2WD and 4WD drive options.
