Renault India achieved a standout result in March 2026, dispatching 5,046 units domestically, a 77% year-on-year jump from the previous March. This marked the brand's highest monthly figure in recent quarters, propelled by initial dispatch of the new Duster SUV alongside steady sales of the Kiger and Triber.
The Kiger and Triber models, which together made up 63% of March volumes, continued to anchor performance. Renault wrapped up FY26 with domestic sales totalling 42,018 units, reflecting 11% growth over FY25's 37,900 units. Month-on-month, March volumes rose from February's 3,495 units, extending a positive streak that included January's 33.6% year-on-year gain.

The brand credited refreshed variants and improved market execution for the upswing. Updates to the Triber and Kiger since late 2025 have resonated with budget-conscious buyers seeking compact SUVs and MPVs. The Duster's arrival adds firepower in the mid-size SUV space, where it competed effectively in earlier generations.

Dealerships began receiving the third-gen Duster in late March, with turbo-petrol variants now hitting roads. Strong-hybrid options will follow soon, complementing pre-launch bookings that started at Rs 21,000. Renault timed deliveries to coincide with festive demand buildup.

The performance underscores Renault's rebound strategy after softer years. Growth accelerated through 2026, with February sales up 31 per cent year-on-year. As part of the Renault-Nissan alliance, the company prioritises value-driven products for India's mass market.
Looking ahead, executives expect the Duster to drive further gains amid SUV popularity. Network enhancements and competitive pricing position Renault to challenge bigger rivals. March's numbers signal sustained traction as FY27 begins.
