Renault has reintroduced the Duster in India, reviving a well-known nameplate after a gap. The SUV has been launched at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While most specifications were disclosed at launch, fuel efficiency figures were initially held back. The company has now revealed mileage details, but only for the turbo petrol variant. Meanwhile, Kia has also updated the Seltos with a facelift, priced from Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Here's a closer look at how these two SUVs compare in terms of fuel efficiency.

Renault Duster Mileage

The Renault Duster's Turbo TCe 160 engine delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.45 kmpl when paired with a DCT automatic gearbox, while the 6-speed manual version returns 17.75 kmpl. This 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, positioning it among the more powerful offerings in its segment.

In addition to this, the SUV is also available with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. Looking ahead, Renault is preparing to introduce a strong-hybrid powertrain around Diwali 2026. This setup will combine a 109 hp petrol engine with a 49 hp electric motor and a 20 hp starter generator. Supported by a 1.4 kWh battery, the hybrid system is expected to deliver a combined output of 160 hp and 172 Nm, offering a balance between performance and efficiency.

Kia Seltos Mileage

The Kia Seltos comes with multiple engine choices, including two petrol options and one diesel unit. The range starts with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque. It also features a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 160 hp and 253 Nm, catering to buyers looking for stronger performance.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Seltos turbo-petrol variant with the DCT gearbox is estimated to offer 17.9 kmpl. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a CVT transmission delivers around 18 kmpl.
