- Kia Seltos launched in India with three 1.5L engine options and ARAI mileage revealed
- Diesel MT variant offers the best mileage at 19.4 kmpl, diesel AT returns 17.8 kmpl
- Petrol variants deliver between 15.6 kmpl and 17.5 kmpl depending on transmission
Kia launched the next-generation Seltos in India in January 2026. Now, the ARAI-certified mileage of the SUV has been revealed for the SUV. The updated SUV is currently sold at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), offers three engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol GDi, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Here are the mileages these units offer.
As per the data revealed by Vahan Warta, the diesel variant stands out for value. Its 1.5-litre unit, producing 114 bhp and 250 Nm, pairs with a six-speed iMT for 19.4 kmpl ARAI-rated mileage. At current diesel prices around Rs 87.90 per litre in Delhi (22 April 2026), Rs 100 fills enough fuel for roughly 22 km on this setup, making it a practical pick for long drives. The diesel automatic, with a six-speed torque converter, returns 17.8 kmpl, still competitive in the segment.
Petrol options keep pace too. The base 1.5-litre petrol produces 133 bhp and 144 Nm, and achieves 16.5 kmpl with a six-speed manual and with iVT, available on entry-level trims like HTE to HTX. Higher up, the 1.5-litre turbo GDi produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm, posting 15.6 kmpl with iMT and 17.5 kmpl with seven-speed DCT. These figures position the Seltos well against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and Honda Elevate.

Loaded with features like a panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, 10.1-inch touchscreen, and 360-degree camera, the Seltos blends tech and thrift. It competes in a crowded mid-size SUV space, including Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Volkswagen Taigun. Real-world mileage may vary by conditions, but ARAI data suggests the diesel MT leads for cost-conscious owners.
