Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its GLC EV LWB in China. This long-wheelbase electric SUV, revealed at the Auto China 2026 show, stretches the boundaries of luxury in the premium EV segment with a six-seat layout and a new 85.5 kWh battery pack.

Mercedes-Benz GLC EV LWB: Design

The GLC EV LWB measures 4,933mm in length with a 3,027mm wheelbase, making it 88mm longer and 66mm taller than the standard model. This extra room enables a 2+2+2 seating layout across three rows, a first for the current GLC generation, though earlier versions offered seven seats.

Rear doors, windows, and quarter panels grow larger to enhance access, while the front fascia, grille, and lights stay familiar from global variants. Mercedes engineers borrowed S-Class chassis tech, including steel dampers that mimic air suspension comfort, with an optional full air setup and rear-axle steering.

Mercedes-Benz GLC EV LWB: Powertrain

Power comes from an 85.5kWh battery paired with dual motors in an all-wheel-drive configuration, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 680km standard, extendable to 703km via undisclosed upgrades. It supports 320kW DC fast charging for a 10-80% top-up in 22 minutes. By contrast, the regular-wheelbase GLC EV packs a bigger 94kWh unit with 489 hp and 800 Nm, claiming 715km WLTP range elsewhere. This China-focused tweak balances space and efficiency smartly.
