Mercedes-Benz India has expanded the GLS family with the launch of the GLS AMG Line. It has been introduced in two variants: GLS 450 AMG Line and GLS 450d AMG Line. The petrol powered version comes at a starting price of Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom), while the iteration with diesel engine will be sold at Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom). The brand says that it is "a sporty and expressive iteration of Mercedes-Benz's most successful 'Large Size Luxury SUV'."

The Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line comes with visual changes that bring it closer to the Mercedes-AMG models. This can be seen in the form of AMG front aprons, sporty, distinctive air inlets at the front. Along with it, there are front, rear wing flares, and AMG side sills finished in body colours. Air outlets on the rear wings, AMG rear apron with diffuser-look insert in black and trim strip in chrome. To further go with the theme, the car gets perforated brake discs at the front axle and brake calipers with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering at the rear.

On the inside, the GLS AMG Line comes with a sport steering wheel with 3-twin-spoke design and black top stitching. It also has a flattened bottom section with a perforated handle area and gearshift paddles. There are also AMG sports pedals with brushed stainless steel with black rubber studs. The occupant will also get to see the black floor mats with AMG lettering.

The brand also offers the AMG Night Package with black elements, including exterior mirror housings and the shoulder line and window line trim strips. The roof rails also have matte black finish. This package also gets 21-inch light alloy wheels.

The petrol-powered version of the SUV comes with a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder petrol engine producing 375 hp of power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz 450d AMG Line comes with 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 362 hp power and 750 Nm torque. These units are paired with the 9-speed automatic transmission. For both the powertrains, the SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds while the top-speed is limited at 250 kmph.
