Mercedes-Benz has taken the covers off the CLA Electric in India. The sedan joins the EQA and the EQB in the automaker's line-up of entry-level models and will be available for bookings March 10 onwards. Meanwhile, the automaker plans to launch the model in April 2026. Once launched, the electric car will revive the CLA nameplate in the country which was discontinued with the ICE model in 2020.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Design
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric brings a sleek and modern look, featuring unique attributes tailored for electric vehicles. At the front, there is a solid grille finished in glossy black, highlighted by illuminated three-pointed star motifs. The signature twin-pod LED headlights of Mercedes-Benz are complemented by a slim LED light strip.

A similar light strip connects the taillights at the rear. From a side view, it boasts flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels that are designed for maximum aerodynamics. All of it is complemented by paints including: Clear Blue, Cosmic Black, Polar White, Alpine Grey and Patagonia Red.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Interior, Features
The CLA Electric comes standard with a dual-screen setup, which includes a 10.25-inch display for the driver and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment unit functioning using the MB.OS. It will also get over-the-air software updates. Other highlights include, a 3-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, and the carbon-fiber accents on the center console provide a sporty ambiance.

Included in the comfort and convenience package are powered and heated front seats with memory functions, a fixed panoramic glass roof, and automatic climate control. Additional options available consist of a 16-speaker Burmester sound system, a 14-inch display for the passenger, a head-up display, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

In terms of safety, the CLA is equipped with eight airbags, a comprehensive 360-degree camera system alongside blind-spot monitoring, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a tire-pressure monitoring system, and an electronic parking brake.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Powertrain
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric gets 250+ variant in India which comes with a 85 kWh battery pack offering a range of 792 km on a WLTP range. It also gets a two-speed gearbox instead of a one-speed reduction unit, setting it apart from most EVs. It is paired with an electric motor which produces 272 hp of power, accelerating the EV from 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. The battery can be charged using a 240 kW high-speed DC fast charger which can add a range of up to 400 km in less than 20 minutes.
