Mahindra XEV 9S Bookings Open Tomorrow: Here's All About Electric XUV 7XO

Mahindra launched the XEV 9S in November, which is the electric counterpart to the newly launched XUV 7XO, with prices starting at Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as India's first ground-up, born-electric seven-seater SUV, the model is underpinned by Mahindra's INGLO architecture. The company unveiled the SUV only a few days ago, and now bookings are scheduled to open from tomorrow, i.e., January 14, 2026. Deliveries will follow shortly after, beginning January 23, 2026.

The Mahindra XEV 9S offers three battery pack options: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh. The 59 kWh battery is capable of delivering a peak power of 170 kW, the 70 kWh battery delivers 180 kW, and the 79 kWh battery promises 210 kW of peak power. 

The  XEV 9S sports a modern, electric-focused look with a blanked-out grille, L-shaped LED DRLs, and vertically stacked projector headlamps. A sleek LED light bar spans the fascia, while flush door handles and aero-style alloys add sophistication. Roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and Mahindra Electric logos at both ends complete its distinctive presence.

The Mahindra XEV 9S sets a new benchmark for cabin space, offering a massive 4076 litres across the front and second rows. It also packs in a generous 527-litre boot and a best-in-class 150-litre frunk, ensuring ample room for every journey. Flexible 50:50 split seats in the third row add to its versatile, family-friendly layout.

The Mahindra XEV 9S offers a premium rear-seat experience with features tailored for comfort and tech-savvy convenience. Passengers enjoy powered Boss Mode, ventilated second-row seats with recline and sliding adjustment, and dedicated sunshades for added privacy. Acoustic laminated glass enhances cabin quietness, while wireless phone charging and the "LiveYourMood" interface with three ambient modes elevate the in-car experience. The SUV also supports Bring Your Own Device capability, includes a lounge desk for added utility, and integrates translucent door inserts for a modern touch.

The XEV 9S delivers a rich entertainment experience with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system powered by Dolby Atmos, complemented by three expansive 31.24 cm screens. It supports 5G connectivity for seamless streaming and productivity, while ambient lighting and smart climate control with Camp Mode enhance cabin comfort. Fun and work apps round off its tech-forward appeal.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is backed with safety features like seven airbags and Level 2+ ADAS powered by five radars and a vision camera. It features Driver Drowsiness Detection with DOMS (Eyedentity) for fatigue alerts, while Secure360 Pro offers live view, recording, and a new live communication feature, and more.
