Hyundai Motor India Limited has launched the Ioniq 5 facelift in the Indian market at Rs 55.70 lakh (ex-showroom). With this price, it is Rs 12.10 lakh more expensive than the outgoing model, which is priced at Rs 43.60 lakh. All of it is aimed at improving the EV's appeal for consumers, and it is the first update to the electric car since its 2023 launch. It is worth mentioning that the facelift version of the electric SUV is already on sale in the international market and was introduced a year ago.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Powertrain Revisions
Based on the E-GMP platform, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift gets a larger 84 kWh battery pack, replacing the 72.6 kWh unit on the outgoing model. Consequently, the range of the electric SUV has increased to 690 km on a single charge. With all of this, the SUV competes against models like the Kia EV6, Volvo EX30, BYD Sealion 7, and BMW iX1 LWB in the Indian market.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Design
The model now gets some major changes in design with revised front and rear bumpers. Additionally, the brand has added new skid plates and a fresh design for the alloy wheels, along with a rear spoiler and V-garnish for the lighting elements. All of this is brought together by paint scheme options, including Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey, and Optic White, all with an Obsidian Black interior theme.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Interior
Inside, the steering wheel has been upgraded to a 3-spoke leather model that includes an illuminated 4-dot design and a heating feature. The center console has been updated, and the wireless charging pad now features physical controls for heated and ventilated seating. The dual 12.3-inch infotainment and instrument cluster display configuration has been retained.

In terms of technology, the Ioniq 5 now comes equipped with a Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system, Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) update capabilities, wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Active Sound Design, and in-car payment options for EV charging. Additionally, a new remote immobilization feature has been introduced through Hyundai's Bluelink platform for enhanced anti-theft protection.
