At the core of the Desmo450 MX Factory sits a 449.6cc single-cylinder Desmodromic engine, producing 63.5 bhp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is mounted within a lightweight aluminium frame and complemented by a full titanium Akrapovic exhaust, ensuring both strength and reduced weight. To sharpen its racing edge, Ducati has also equipped the bike with a holeshot device, enabling explosive acceleration right off the starting line.

The Desmo450 MX Factory is built around Ducati's first single‑cylinder four‑stroke motocross engine featuring desmodromic timing. Paired with a full Akrapovič exhaust, the setup delivers a progressive torque curve, strong low‑end pull, steady mid‑range, and extended over-rev, culminating in 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm. This balance ensures responsive acceleration and sustained performance across demanding track conditions.

Weighing only 104 kg (229 lb) wet without fuel, the Desmo450 MX Factory employs a twin-spar aluminium frame engineered from just 11 components. Using a mix of cast, forged, and extruded elements, this design achieves an impressive power-to-weight balance, ensuring strength, agility, and efficiency ideally suited for competitive motocross performance.

Factory-Level Suspension

The Desmo450 MX Factory is fitted with Showa 49 mm upside-down forks at the front and a rear mono-shock, both offering complete adjustability to suit varied track conditions. Suspension travel measures 310 mm at the front and 301 mm at the rear.
