Raveena Tandon ruled Bollywood during the mid and late 1990s. Recently, Raveena Tandon shared a throwback picture on social media that caught the attention of fans. What made the post special was the presence of her first sports car, the iconic Mazda Miata. Raveena Tandon posted the picture on Instagram Stories and revealed that she was only 18 years old when she bought the Mazda Miata for herself. The image shows a young Raveena Tandon posing with her friends beside the red-coloured Mazda Miata.
"#Throwback when I bought my first swanky sports convertible at 18," she wrote in the caption. "Gifted it to myself. At second hand," added Raveena Tandon. In the picture, Raveena Tandon is seen wearing a white top with her hair left open. Three other people are also visible in the frame, while the Mazda Miata remains the main highlight of the photo.
According to reports, the Mazda Miata was not the first car owned by Raveena Tandon. In an earlier interview, Raveena Tandon revealed that the first car she purchased for herself was a Maruti Suzuki 800. The small hatchback remained one of the most popular cars in India for more than two decades.

What Makes The Mazda Miata Special?
The Mazda Miata owned by Raveena Tandon belongs to one of the most loved sports car families in automotive history. First introduced at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show, the Mazda Miata was developed around the Japanese philosophy of "Jinba Ittai," which means the connection between the driver and the machine. This idea helped the Mazda Miata become famous among driving enthusiasts across the world.

Early versions of the Mazda Miata were powered by a 1.6-litre engine that produced 115 hp and came paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The car was designed to offer a fun and engaging driving experience. Later, in 1994, Mazda updated the Mazda Miata with a bigger 1.8-litre engine producing 130 hp, along with improved brakes and a stiffer chassis setup.

What truly made the Mazda Miata stand out was not outright performance, but its perfect balance. The steering felt sharp and connected, while the suspension offered both comfort and sporty handling. More than just a car, the Mazda Miata became an emotion for many owners. In fact, studies have shown that the Mazda Miata is among the sports cars that owners keep for the longest time, proving how strongly drivers connect with it.
