Taking note of the viral videos, Delhi Police took action and shared the update via social media. The police department also confirmed that the rider has been booked under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act for putting others' safety at risk.
Sharing the information on social media, Delhi Police wrote, "Action against those who disregard road rules. Taking cognizance of the viral video, Thana New Usmanpur has tightened the noose against stunt performers under Section 281 of the Justice Code and the MV Act." The individual in question was performing risky motorcycle stunts. The video shared by Delhi Police shows the accused disturbing bus passengers by opening doors to create video content for social media. The video also showed him doing something similar with other vehicles on the road. The motorcycle used for the act lacked a registration plate.
The police department got alarmed because of the lack of a registration plate on the motorcycle, which is probably an intentional act by the suspect to conceal his identity while carrying out the crimes. Officials have indicated that additional inquiries are in progress to establish whether the accused has participated in similar incidents previously.
A police unit was promptly assembled to locate the individual. According to reports, the investigators thoroughly reviewed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the nearby areas and performed a detailed frame-by-frame examination of the viral video to identify the biker. The investigation led to an arrest and the eventual recovery of the motorcycle that was used in the crime.
