BYD Sealion 7 Electric SUV To Get Expensive From Jan 1, 2026

BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, the global leader in new energy vehicles, has announced that prices for the BYD Sealion 7 will be revised upward from January 1, 2026. The company has clarified that customers booking the Sealion 7 on or before December 31, 2025, will continue to benefit from the current ex-showroom prices, offering added value ahead of the scheduled increase.

The current prices of the BYD Sealion 7 variants are as follows:

• BYD Sealion7 Performance (82.56 kWh): Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom)
• BYD Sealion7 Premium (82.56 kWh): Rs 48.90 lakh(ex-showroom)

Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said, "The BYD Sealion 7 has struck a chord with customers across India. It has sold over 2,000 units in a short span, reflecting the strong market confidence in our Pure Performance electric SUV. With the planned price revision from early 2026, we want to ensure that customers who have been waiting to purchase the BYD Sealion7 can still benefit from the current pricing till 31 December 2025. As we continue expanding our dealership network and enhancing customer touchpoints, the BYD Sealion7 will remain a key pillar of BYD India's commitment to offering advanced, sustainable, and high-performance electric mobility solutions."

Since its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the BYD Sealion 7 has quickly gained traction in India, surpassing 2,000 sales. This milestone highlights the strong demand for the fully electric Pure Performance eSUV and showcases its rising popularity among EV buyers who value premium design, advanced technology, and dynamic performance.

The BYD Sealion 7 comes equipped with advanced technologies such as iTAC (Intelligence Torque Adaption Control) and CTB (Cell to Body), which integrate the Blade Battery directly into the chassis. This design not only enhances cabin space but also improves handling and safety. The SUV is powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack and is offered in two trims - Premium and Performance - both delivering strong acceleration, extended driving range, and a host of luxury and technology features. Reinforcing its engineering credentials, the Sealion 7 also carries a 5-Star NCAP safety rating.

Performance figures further underline its capability. The Performance variant sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, while the Premium achieves the same in 6.7 seconds. Range estimates (NEDC cycle) stand at 542 km for the Performance and 567 km for the Premium. Power output peaks at 390 kW with 690 Nm of torque in the Performance trim, compared to 230 kW and 380 Nm in the Premium.

Dimensionally, the Sealion 7 measures 4,830 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm, ensuring balanced proportions and generous interior space. Together, these attributes position the Sealion 7 as a premium electric SUV that blends cutting-edge technology, safety, and performance with everyday practicality.
