Royal Enfield is preparing a mid-cycle update for the Continental GT 650, with the updated model expected to arrive in India towards the end of 2026. The news, reported by Autocar India, comes shortly after the company showcased the race-spec Continental GT-R 750 at EICMA 2025 and Motoverse 2025. Despite the introduction of the larger 750cc version, Royal Enfield has no plans to discontinue the 650, which will continue to be sold alongside its bigger sibling.

The updated Continental GT 650 will feature several visual and mechanical upgrades. New colour options are expected to be introduced to freshen up the design, while the suspension setup will be improved with more premium units replacing the current telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. A twin-disc front brake system, similar to what has been spotted on GT-R 750 test bikes, is also expected to be part of the package. These changes aim to enhance both the ride quality and braking performance, giving the 650 a more upmarket feel.
Currently, the Continental GT 650 is offered in five paint shades - British Racing Green, Rocker Red, Apex Grey, Slip Stream Blue, and Mr Clean - with prices ranging between Rs 3.50 lakh and Rs 3.78 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming facelift is likely to be priced slightly higher due to the addition of premium equipment. Positioned between the Interceptor 650 and Classic 650 in Royal Enfield's lineup, the GT 650 has built a strong reputation as the brand's most popular twin-cylinder motorcycle in India and several global markets.

Royal Enfield's decision to retain the 650 alongside the new 750 highlights the importance of the model in its portfolio. The GT 650 has consistently appealed to riders who value its cafe-racer styling, accessible performance, and relatively affordable pricing compared to larger displacement motorcycles. By introducing a facelift with meaningful updates, the company aims to keep the bike competitive and attractive to both existing fans and new buyers.
