Mayawati's security cover scaled down
Lucknow: Bahujan Samajwadi Party supremo Mayawati's security has been scaled down from the 600 strong security cover she earlier had as Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister. She will now be given the security cover entitled to a 'former Chief Minister'.

The state component of her earlier security has been cut according to the threat assessment of the Uttar Pradesh police intelligence wing. She will now get the same security cover as Mulayam Singh Yadav.

As a former Chief Minister, she will be getting Z-Plus security which includes 28 National Security Guard commandos and 15 Cobra commandos. A deputy Superintendent officer of the Uttar Pradesh police will supervise her commando's and the 12 homeguards, who will also be a part of her entourage.

Under the new security cover, six wireless operators will track her movements and coordinate the movements of her security guards.

A pilot car will lead her seven vehicle motorcade, which includes a bulletproof ambassador for Mayawati. She earlier had forty vehicles in her convoy. She will no longer be entitled to the ambulance with a life support system, which was specially designed for her when she was chief minister.

Meanwhile, her security that was fashioned around the Special Protection Group will now be deployed to protect the new Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
