Six of family killed over land dispute

Agra: In a gory fallout of a dispute over land, a young couple and their four children were hacked to death allegedly by close relatives and accomplices in a village, some 30-km from Agra, on Wednesday.

Satyavan Singh Jat, aged 35, his wife Pushpa (28) and their four children - Aarti (6), Mridula (3), Gudiya (2) and son Kanhaiyya (4)- were killed allegedly by his brother Gambhir and his accomplices at Turkia village, Additional Director General of Police Jagmohan Yadav said in Lucknow.

He said Gambhir, his sister Gayatri and their friend Abhishek killed Satyavan and his family over a land dispute.

All the three had been arrested from the Idgah Railway Station in Agra within four hours of the gruesome crime.

The dispute related to an ancestral land, police said.

Bodies of Satyavan and his family had been sent for post-mortem.
