Peacemaker: Dog violently intervenes to end couple quarrel

Toronto:
A fight between a Canadian couple angered their faithful dog so much that he intervened by attacking them, sending both of them to hospitals with grievous injuries.

Police duty inspector Rob Williams said the attack began when an argument erupted between a man and woman in their 20s.

A pit bull cross in the house attacked, first the man, then the woman, Williams said, Calgary Herald reported.

"The man managed to get the dog off, but the woman could not," he said. "They were both bitten very seriously, all over their bodies, head, face, neck, arms, everywhere."

The man and woman were in need of stitches and taken to hospital, said Williams. "It's not life-threatening, but they were both bleeding very badly."

A neighbour who witnessed the incident termed it as a "horrible"and "insane" attack in front of a home on Fonda Court in Calgary.

"She was screaming," he said of the woman. "The (dog was) actually bitting at her and pulling at her. It was pretty bad," Ed Karout, the neighbour said.

The medium-sized dog was bitting the woman "all over." "I saw blood all over her shirt," he said. "She was trying to get into the house. (The man)was trying to pull her in, and the (dog was) dragging her back out."

The dog was captured by police and handed over to bylaw officers, Williams said.
