Etawah:
It's meant to be a festival of the arts for Mulayam Singh Yadav's constituency, Etawah in Uttar Pradesh.
But the Saifai Mahotsav deviated from the norm somewhat when Ukranian and other dancers performed at the event in the presence of the Samajawadi Party leader, his family and supporters.
Mulayam's opponents allege that some of the Indian performers are bar dancers from Mumbai.
The Mahotsav in the past had seen star appearances by Bollywood personalities like Jaya Prada and Hema Malini. The star power was delivered by Amar Singh who exited the Samajwadi Party over 11 months ago after a bitter and public falling-out with Mulayam.
