Senior policeman praises Kasab for his 'passion'

Indore: The police are perhaps the last people you would expect to praise a terror suspect - especially one involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

But Inspector General Indore Rajender Kumar of Indore has gone beyond mere praise for Ajmal Kasab, to say that his passion should also be emulated.

"Kasab had passion; he learned to shoot and handle modern technology within one month," said Kumar, adding, "One should have the same passion."

Speaking to NDTV, Kumar said he was trying to motivate jawans to learn shooting; Kumar says he used Sachin Tendulkar as an example as well, but admits that his comment was a faux pas and wants to apologise.

The attacks executed by Kasab and nine other Pakistanis, on behalf of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, left 160 people dead. Kasab is being tried in a Mumbai court.
