Jalpaiguri, West Bengal: A gas leak from an oil tanker has caused panic among people who have been fleeing their houses at Angrabhasa along the National Highway 31 in Jalpaiguri today.

Many locals have left their houses after the gas started leaking at about 3 am from a tanker on the national highway, District Magistrate Mukta Arya said.

Electricity was cut off in the area as preventive measure and efforts were on to cap the leak, she said.
