ATS revealing details hurts probe, admits Chavan
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has admitted that the Centre was unhappy with the Maharashtra Anti Terror Squad (ATS) chief revealing information crucial to terror investigations.

"Yes the Centre is unhappy that the details of the investigation were revealed and it hurt the probe," said Ashok Chavan, Maharashtra Chief Minister.

On Monday, as NDTV had first reported, the Centre had pulled the ATS.

Centre pulls up ATS
  • After the details revealed by the ATS lead to the trail to the Pakistani handlers going cold
  • The Pakistani handler had stopped communicating after ATS revealed his codename
On the same day the ATS had gone on revealed more information:
  • That money was routed to the arrested men through the Hawala route from Dubai
  • And that the Pak handler is absconding 1993 blast accused
With the Opposition also latching onto the issue and the Assembly sessions beginning on Thursday, the government may find itself under increasing pressure to act against ATS Chief K P Raghuvanshi.

At least for now the Chief Minister has a non-committal answer.

NDTV: Will you take action against Raghuvanshi?

Chavan replied: "I will speak to the Home Minister for more details."
