Cuttack, Orissa:
A civil contractor was shot dead by two unidentified assailants near Kandarpur, on the
outskirts of the city in Cuttack, Orissa.
According to police, Bijay Routray, a native of Madhupatna, Cuttack was fired at on Thursday evening when he was travelling to the site near Kandarpur where he was engaged in constructing a canal road.
"Two assailants came on a motorcycle and fired at Routray before escaping from the spot", police said.
Although, no one was arrested in this connection yet, police believe the motive behind the murder could be refusal of extortion money.
