Two more bodies were recovered from the Cauvery river as search operations continued to trace four persons who were washed away while bathing near Vendipalayam barrage on the Nammakal-Erode border,police said today.
The bodies of two men were recovered today while a girl's body had been retrieved yesterday.
Police said nine persons, comprising two families belonging to a suburb of Erode, had gone to the Vendipalayam Electricity Barrage around 3.30 pm yesterday and decided to take bath in the river.
It was stated that the nine persons, including three women, were caught in the strong flow of water but two managed to swim to the bank and shout for help.
Some persons in the area had jumped into the river and recovered the girl's body.
Fire and Rescue Service Personnel are engaged in the search operations.
