Bengaluru's 12th Chitra Sante Draws Enthusiastic Crowds

Artworks on display at the 12th Bengaluru Chitra Sante.

Bengaluru: Sunday in Bengaluru saw thousands of people turn up at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat for the annual Chitra Sante - an art fair that draws a very warm response. Chitra Sante is an art fair that has artists setting up their work in and around Chitrakala Parishat - spilling out onto the roads, which are blocked to vehicles for the day.

Artists also do some work on the spot, giving people a glimpse into what goes into the creation of an artwork.

Around 1200 artists were selected to be a part of the fair. Many of the artists are from rural areas and travel into the city to take part in the event.

Visitors can buy art directly from the artist, with no middlemen, in a direct interaction.

This was the 12th edition of the annual fair. And judging by the crowds who turned out- it is something both the artists and the public thoroughly enjoy.
