UK Traveller Claims He Was "Spat On" While Travelling On Indian Train. Video Is Viral

Foreign tourists love to share their experiences of travelling by Indian trains on social media. Many of these posts have gone viral in the past. Sometimes they highlight positive aspects and memorable trips. However, sometimes they also point out serious problems and challenges faced by Indian Railways passengers - whether locals or tourists. Recently, a UK vlogger's video about his negative experience travelling by train in India raised many eyebrows online. It was shared by @backpacker.ben, who explains two incidents that bothered him during his journey.

Firstly, he stated that a fellow passenger kept putting his foot on his (Ben's) seat. The vlogger said that he politely requested the other man a few times to avoid doing so, but to no avail. "So I'm just going to have to accept it, for the next couple of hours, his foot is going to be there."

As the video proceeds, it gives us brief glimpses of the compartment as a whole. We see a vendor selling a cucumber-based snack from a basket. Ben claimed, "Some dude just spat on my arm. He went past. He's chewing these cucumber things. He looked at me, said something, and it went all on my arm. Big gob of it." Take a look at the viral video below:

In the comments, many people were shocked by the vlogger's claims. Some blamed the passengers. But others blamed the traveller for not choosing an upper-class compartment. Read some of the reactions below:

Before this, another video about train travel in India shared by the same vlogger went viral on social media. His post showed a housekeeping staff member onboard a train sweeping up trash and pushing it straight out of the moving coach onto the railway tracks. The traveller was taken aback to watch bottles, wrappers and other waste being discarded this way, especially since the worker noticed him filming but carried on regardless. The footage quickly went viral, prompting strong reactions from viewers who criticised the practice. The incident highlighted ongoing issues with waste management, staff training and the broader challenge of keeping trains clean, despite continued efforts to improve hygiene standards across Indian Railways.
