A Delta Air Lines flight, which was preparing to depart from Atlanta for Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, experienced a disruption after a passenger allegedly attempted to open a cabin door while it was moving on the taxiway, according to NBC Chicago. The situation reportedly arose following an announcement of an additional delay, which came after an already prolonged wait for departure. Passenger-recorded clips have shown how the situation unfolded inside the cabin. 

According to reports, the passenger became agitated and began expressing frustration inside the cabin. Videos circulating on social media platforms, including Reddit, show the man speaking loudly on his phone and questioning the length of the delay. Nearby passengers can be seen watching.

The incident escalated when the individual allegedly approached the aircraft door and attempted to operate it. NBC Chicago reported a statement by Delta that the door was partially moved, though no emergency systems were triggered, and there were no injuries. Crew members intervened immediately, following standard safety procedures, and brought the situation under control.

As a precaution, the pilots halted the aircraft and returned it to the gate. Once back at the terminal, the passenger was escorted off the flight. The aircraft was later inspected before being cleared to resume its journey later the same evening.

Delta Air Lines, in a statement, said passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behaviour onboard. The airline also apologised for the inconvenience caused to travellers due to the delay.
