"They Were Dancing, I Was Crying": Shefali Shah On Watching Northern Lights In Finland

Shefali Shah is on a family vacation in Finland with her husband, Vipul Shah, and their sons, Aaryaman and Maurya. Giving fans a peek into the trip, Shefali shared stunning glimpses of what she called an “unparalleled and impossible” experience – witnessing the Northern Lights. In the first frame, Shefali and her family are seen gazing at bright green lights dancing across the night sky. The snow-covered landscape, surrounded by tall green trees, makes the moment even more breathtaking. In the following pictures, different shades of the aurora light up the sky, creating a truly surreal vibe.

One of the sweetest moments from the post is an adorable photo of Shefali and Vipul sharing a cosy moment as they watch the Aurora Borealis.

In her caption, Shefali Shah wrote, “Thought I'll try and explain what it is to actually see the Northern Lights. But there are no words to describe the Aurora Borealis. This magnificence is unparalleled and impossible to translate.”

“Normally, I would Google it, but I don't want to reduce this experience by finding science or logic behind it. This is beyond the realms of the human mind, and the only thing I could do is stand there in silence with tears in my eyes, feeling blessed, grateful, and humbled and surrender to this miracle. And realise that I was lucky to be a mere spectator of this MAGIC,” she added.

Revealing the location in the comments section, the actress wrote, “Saw it briefly in Tromso but had the full show in Saariselka Finland. And yes they were dancing. And yes I was crying. And yes, I was cold and frozen but I was humbled.”

Yellowknife, in Canada's Northwest Territories, is a favourite among aurora lovers. The skies here are dark, wide and perfect for viewing. The Northern Lights are visible up to 240 nights a year, mainly between August and April.
