Travelling to a new destination is always exciting. Globetrotters are eager to explore iconic landmarks, hidden sightseeing spots, and exquisite markets. But have you ever visited foreign soil where suddenly everything feels different? One minute, you are wondering why everyone is frowning at someone slurping noodles a little too loudly, and the next, you are baffled by unique greeting styles. That is nothing but a culture shock that a traveller eventually adapts to. Recently, travel vlogger Ben dropped a video on Instagram, sharing some culture shocks he experienced while visiting America from India.

The clip opened with Ben eating what appeared to be a salad dish. "There is no sauce. Where is the flavour?" he complained, hinting at the bland taste of certain American foods compared to spicy Indian cuisine. Next, he was shocked to find no beds on trains, as in India, sleeper trains have designated berths, allowing passengers to rest or doze off during long journeys. After that, Ben tried to negotiate the price of a rice cooker but was taken aback when he learnt that the cost was fixed, unlike in India, where bargaining is pretty common.
One of the perks was that crossing the road was easier in America compared to India, where one must dodge traffic and always keep an eye on cars, which more often than not break the rules. At one point, when Ben asked, "What native languages are there in the US?" he received another culture shock, learning that there was "just one," whereas India has many.

Some of the travel vlogger's other observations included that Americans were not too friendly, cars rarely honked, and vehicles even stopped for pedestrians attempting to cross the street.
The internet wasted no time reacting to the video. "So accurate," agreed one user. "Bargaining for stuff is so satisfying," noted another. "That was creative and true," pointed out an individual. "Finally, someone is not making jokes about how India is and appreciating it," lauded one person. "Bro listed all pros and cons of India," read a remark.
So far, the video has amassed over 6 million views.
