With the Mahaparinirvan Diwas 2025 celebrations ongoing, the Central Railways have put some strict restrictions on platform ticket sales to manage the heavy passenger rush. The move will be effective from December 5 to December 7, and is aimed at ensuring safe boarding and deboarding at busy stations.
The temporary suspension of the platform tickets by the Central Railway (CR) zone also includes two major stations in the Mumbai area. Overall, this will be effective at 13 major railway stations, ensuring smooth passenger flow during the festivities. In contrast, platform tickets will be issued to the families of senior citizens, ailing passengers, children and lady passengers who require assistance, as per Railway Board guidelines.
