Multiple SpiceJet flights were cancelled and delayed on late Wednesday, April 29, at Mumbai Airport's Terminal 1, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded. Several videos from the airport have gone viral on X, showing agitated passengers trying to get answers from airline staff. In one video, a frustrated passenger questions why boarding passes were issued despite an aircraft shortage. In another clip, hundreds of passengers can be seen shouting anti-SpiceJet slogans at Mumbai and Delhi airports.

A passenger shared a post on X at 1 am (April 30), writing, "@SpicejetP making everyone fool. Flight running 8 hrs late. They don't even bother to inform passengers," adding, "No food facility, no lounge access @ServiceSpicejet must shut down, worst aircraft."

In another X post, a user shared that when they reached Delhi after delays, "the SpiceJet guys didn't load the luggage for almost 70% of passengers, saying that it was a technical issue."

The passenger added, "The baggage was promised to come at 5 AM, then 8 AM, then 10 AM and still hasn't come. The travellers are extremely angry with the SpiceJet employees, and they still have no clarity about the situation. Two female travellers are in tears."

In an official statement shared with NDTV, a SpiceJet spokesperson said, "Three SpiceJet departures from Mumbai, SG 631 (Mumbai-Delhi), SG 553 (Mumbai-Gorakhpur) and SG 669 (Mumbai-Bengaluru), were cancelled on April 29 due to operational reasons, including the grounding of an aircraft and adverse weather at the previous station (Bagdogra) of the operating aircraft, which led to FDTL limitations for the crew."

Referring to efforts to accommodate affected passengers, the statement continued, "The airline is operating additional flights today (April 30) to accommodate the affected passengers."

The statement added, "Additionally, two Mumbai-Ahmedabad flights were delayed due to adverse weather at the previous stations - Varanasi and Bagdogra - of the operating aircraft and have since departed with a delay. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers and appreciate their understanding."
