Getting to Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) Terminal 2 has become far simpler for passengers. Until now, flyers had to factor in unpredictable road traffic before catching a flight. That last stretch from the metro often felt longer than it should. But with a newly opened foot overbridge, the walk from the metro to the terminal has been reduced to just a few steps.

The bridge, 100 metres long, links the CSMIA - T2 Metro Station on Line 3 (also called the Aqua Line) directly with Terminal 2. Reports say the walk has been cut down from 450 metres to only 118 metres, giving flyers a quicker, less stressful route to their check-in counters.

The bridge offers ample room for passengers wheeling bulky luggage. It connects Lift Entry/Exit A1 of the metro station straight into the terminal building, allowing travellers to avoid stepping into traffic-heavy zones altogether.

Highlighting the new facility, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) shared: "Good news for flyers! No more rushing through traffic before your flight! Now, from #CSMIA-T2 Metro Station - Airport Terminal-2 in just a few steps. The newly built 100-meter Foot Over Bridge, constructed by #MMRDA, connects Lift Entry/Exit A1 at ground level straight to the terminal. Fast, easy and convenient for all commuters!"

The Metro 3 Aqua Line, still under construction, is Mumbai's first fully underground corridor. Spanning 33.5 km from Cuffe Parade (Colaba) to Aarey, it will have 27 stations, including one at grade. Once fully operational, it is expected to make airport transfers far smoother, linking flyers seamlessly to one of India's busiest airports.
