Train journeys in India are changing fast. With new routes, upgraded coaches, and faster trains, Indian Railways is offering passengers a modern and efficient travel experience. Among the biggest examples of this change is the Vande Bharat Express, India's semi-high-speed train designed to make intercity travel quicker and more comfortable. Now, Kerala is set to get its third Vande Bharat Express, connecting the state with Bengaluru in Karnataka.

New Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

The new train will operate between Ernakulam and KSR Bengaluru, managed by the Southern Railway (SR) zone, as per The Indian Express. This service aims to improve connectivity between Kerala and Karnataka while offering passengers a fast, safe, and premium travel experience.
Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Route And Schedule
The new Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 26651/26652) will run via Coimbatore and Palakkad, completing the journey in around 7 hours and 40 minutes. The train can reach a maximum speed of 160 kmph, cutting down travel time between the two cities, The Indian Express reported.

- Thrissur
- Palakkad
- Coimbatore
- Tiruppur
- Erode
- Salem
- Krishnarajapuram
Vande Bharat Kerala: Frequency And Coach Details
The train will operate six days a week, taking a break on Wednesdays for maintenance, as per The Hindu.
It will have eight coaches in total:
- 7 air-conditioned chair cars
- 1 executive chair car
These modern coaches are designed to provide comfortable seating, quick boarding, and smooth travel for passengers.

Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Timings
Train No. 26651 (Bengaluru-Ernakulam):
Departure: 05:10 AM from KSR Bengaluru
Arrival: 01:50 PM at Ernakulam
Train No. 26652 (Ernakulam-Bengaluru):
Departure: 02:20 PM from Ernakulam
Arrival: 11:00 PM at KSR Bengaluru.
The service is expected to start on November 7, according to The New Indian Express.
Existing Vande Bharat Trains In Kerala
Currently, Kerala has two operational Vande Bharat Express trains:
Kasargod-Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod (Train No. 20633/20634)
Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru (Train No. 20631/20632)
These trains have already cut down travel time between key cities and boosted passenger convenience with upgraded facilities and punctual service.
